Colette has worked with horses for most of her life starting as a groom and instructor; she obtained her BHS Horsemasters at the age of 17 and eventually owned and ran her own equestrian centre in Spain. She also has a certificate in Advanced Horse Knowledge and is a qualified equine behaviourist (NAC EBQ).

Colette had a passion for dressage and the sheer beauty of the horse performing movements like passage and piaffe and although she enjoyed the sport there was always something missing. The horses were never quite as beautiful ridden as when performing those movements at liberty.

She often took on horses that were deemed to be “difficult” or “problem horses” and always had a certain amount of success with them but again there was that evasive missing link to achieving a true partnership.

Having always felt uncomfortable with the conventional idea of dominating horses, she did away with the bits and spurs and started a long search for a different way.

In 2007 she started her training at the NAC to become an equine behaviourist and finally found that missing link. A compassionate yet scientific way to truly understand equine behaviour (or science with soul as she calls it!), and how to truly enable horses to thrive in our modern environment.

There is a better way...
